用務員 

業務例:
- 寮、教室、事務所、講堂、病棟、台所、食堂、トイレなど、屋内および屋外（建物周辺のゴミなど）の清掃業務と保守を行う
- 床磨き機やバッファーなどの適切な機器を使用して、床のほこりを払い、モップがけ、掃除、剥離、ワックスがけ、磨きを行う
- 窓、木製品、壁、家具、金属器具など、ガラスの洗浄、ほこり取り、磨きを行う
- ベッドメイキング；リネン、毛布、衣類の確認、印字、保管、発行を行う（個人の作業エリアに限り、大規模なエリアの数え上げや検査は含まれません）
- 汚れた洗濯物を収集し、数え上げ、ガラス製品、洗面器、ベッドパンの配布、排水、滅菌を行う
- 修理の必要性を報告し、小規模なメンテナンスを行う
- 用事をこなし、建物の損傷を検査し、上司に状況を報告する
- 電球の交換、ヒューズの取り替え、ドアのヒンジ、引き出し、キャビネットなどの潤滑や締め付けを行う
- 階段や建物周辺の歩道から雪や氷を除去する
- 家具の移動や教室の設置を行うことがあります。関連する業務を行います。

知識、技能、能力:
- 人間関係のスキルがいくつかあります。一部の口頭および書面でのコミュニケーションスキルがあります。 口頭および書面の指示に従う能力があります。 日常業務で使用される道具や機器の操作、手入れ、および小規模なメンテナンスを行う能力があります。 単純な記録の保持能力があります。

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

• Performs custodial tasks and maintenance of areas such as dormitories, classrooms, offices, auditoriums, wards, kitchens, dining rooms and lavatories including outdoor areas (i.e. trash around buildings)

• Dusts, mops, sweeps, scrubs, strips, waxes and polishes floors using appropriate equipment such as floor polishers and buffers
• Washes, dusts and polishes glass including windows, woodwork, walls, furniture and metal equipment
• Makes beds; checks, marks, stores and issues linens, blankets, and clothing (limited to individual’s work area not to include counting and inspection for a larger area)
• Collects and counts soiled laundry; distributes, empties and sterilizes glassware, wash basins and bedpans
• Reports needs for repairs; performs minor maintenance
• Runs errands; inspects buildings for damage and reports conditions to supervisor
• May change light bulbs and replace fuses, lubricate or tighten door hinges, drawers, cabinets, etc.
• May remove snow and ice from stairways and walkways around buildings
• May move furniture and/or set-up classrooms; performs related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Some interpersonal skills; some oral and written communication skills; ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to operate, care for and perform minor maintenance on tools and equipment used in daily work; some ability in simple record keeping.
